Let´s Get Physical – Training For The Camino De Santiago


One of the top questions we are asked is “Do you have to be super fit to walk the Camino de Santiago with us on a Wild Camino Journey?” 

Our Wild Camino Portuguese Journey is a beginner level walk through stunning Spanish countryside and magical woodlands with a couple of gentle hills along the Way.

We transport your baggage so you can walk unburdened at your own pace and in your own time.

So, the answer is No.  You just need to have a reasonable level of fitness so that you can enjoy your Camino.

If you want to join us on a WIld Camino Journey, we recommend that you adopt a training routine to acclimatize your body to walking long distances.

Your fitness routine doesn´t have to be intensive – you will be looking to increase your overall fitness levels and stamina.

The easiest way to improve your fitness and stamina levels is to increase how far you walk every day. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Treat yourself to a walk in the park. Go out in nature at the weekend for a hike.

As you increase your exercise levels, your fitness and stamina levels will naturally increase.

This is a Camino for everyone, my friend!
